I picked you and alienated the rich

I taught you to seek justice and to obey God –
But you chose man

I laid down my life for you
and showed you my vulnerability –
Yet you never presented me with love
but thorns and vinegar

BIOGRAFIE VAN SELWYN

Selwyn Milborrow se eerste kortverhaal is in 1997 deur die Bloemfonteinse Skrywersvereniging gepubliseer. Vanaf 1998 verskyn sy gedigte in Fanie Olivier se As die son kom oogknip, Vensters van die hart, en Weaving the Fabric, 'n projek tussen Göteburg, Swede en Nelson Mandelabaai, Port Elizabeth.

Hy bied ook Kreatiewe Skryfkundeklasse aan en doen gereeld voorlesings. Hy neem sedert 2003 deel aan die Woordfees van die Grahamstad Nasionale kunstefees. In 2005 is hy gekies om aan Sanlam/LitNet se aanlyn-skryfskool in die poësie afdeling onder leiding van Prof. Joan Hambidge en Daniel Hugo, deel te neem. Selwyn beoefen ook skilderkuns (olieverfskilderye) en neem sedert 2005 deel aan poësie/skilderkuns-uitstallings. Selwyn se nuutste digbundels Poësiepalet, en Drieluik, verskyn by Vivlia Uitgewers. Albei bundels is vir hoërskole voorgeskryf.

Selwyn is tans verbonde aan die Nelson Mandela-Metroplitaanse Universitiet in Port Elizabeth. Selwyn is ‘n vryskut-joernalis vir Media24 / Die Burger.

Selwyn Milborrow (21 Augustus, 1967) is ‘n boorling van Port Elizabeth, Nelson Mandelabaai, Suid Afrika. Hy skryf sedert sy skooldae en sy eerste kortverhaal is net na matriek deur die Bloemfonteinse Skrywersvereniging gepubliseer. Vanaf 1998 verskyn sy gedigte in Fanie Olivier se "As die son kom oogknip", "Spilpunt" en "Weaving the Fabric", 'n projek tussen Göteburg, Swede en Nelson Mandela Metropool, Port Elizabeth. Hy bied ook poësie werkswinkels en kreatiewe skryfkuns aan by skole en doen gereeld voorlesings. Hy neem sedert 2003 deel aan die Woordfees van die Grahamstad Nasionale kunstefees. In 2005 is hy gekies om deel te neem aan die Sanlam/LitNet aanlyn-skryfskole se poësie afdeling. Selwyn beoefen ook skilderkuns (olieverfskilderye) en het bygedra tot 'n foto- uitstalling deur fotograaf Gregor Röhrig by die Grahamstad Nasionale Kunstefees 2005.Selwyn is ook korrespondent vir die Afrikaanse dagblad Die Burger. In 2007 en 2008 verskyn twee digbundels by Vivlia Uitgewers wat ook by skole as voorgeskrewe materiaal gebruik word. Die bundels “Poёsiepalet” en “Drieluik” bevat gedigte oor die liefde, verlies, wanhoop en hoop. Selwyn bied tans kreatiewe skryfkuns-klasse aan.

Heritage Day was celebrated at the museum with excellent performances in song and dance from various cultural groups.
The theme for the day was "Harmony within diversity through the Spoken Word". Therefore, some excellent poems on the struggle of the Khoi & San were read by local poet, Selwyn Milborrow
